CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

A. Background

Everybody has learned their language since they were children, especially their mother tongue. The process occurs naturally and properly with a view to communicate in society of environment. Speaking ability is also one skill which we learned in communication.
As well know, communication is a part of human’s daily activities. Through communication by using language, we can share our ideas with the other people.
In line with the more global world, we are demanded to able to communicate not only by using our mother tongue but also by using a foreign language, especially English which obviously more difficult to do since we have a limitation of knowledge about foreign language. On the other hand as an international language, English is used to communicate in International society, it makes speaking ability becomes very important to master.  And pronunciation is the most important thing in speaking.

B. Problem
Some suggestions are formulated in order to minimize the students’ speaking problems. For the students, they must follow the teacher’s instructions well so that they can improve their speaking ability. They should be aware that the teacher uses these strategies not only to minimize the problems occurred but also to improve their speaking ability. It is also hoped that the students will be more active in using English while doing movie viewing activity so that they can improve their speaking ability. In addition, they have difficulties to pronounce it. And they have less knowledge about how to pronounce well.

C. Purpose

We hope the young generations study about pronunciation earlier. In order that, they can speak English better, as we know that English is International Language.
Now day there isn’t something without English. So, make Indonesian better with English pronunciation because it is very important in speaking. We hope learners can speak with a correct pronunciation because if we speak with wrong pronunciation, the meaning will be different.

B. ANALYSIS
The girl 1’s development is slow because she doesn’t have a strong motivation to study English pronunciation well. And she doesn’t have much time to study it because she have to study at school until afternoon and in the night she have to study at cottage. And also there isn’t  a good and complete facility to support on studying English.

The girl 2’s development is quite fast because she has strong motivation from herself and also from her parent to study English well. In other hand she has much time to study it and there are complete facilities to support her to study English, especially study English pronunciation. And she also takes an English course. So the development is quite fast.

C. CONCLUSION

Speak English is not easy. We must know the word, the meaning and the important one is the pronunciation. Pronunciation is needed because if we speak with the wrong pronunciation, it means that it has different meaning.
Pronunciation must be known by students earlier. Although they are in Kindergarten, Elementary, Junior High or Senior high School.
